SeoQuill ("we", "our", "the app") is a Shopify application that generates AI-powered product descriptions and SEO metadata for Shopify merchants. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
By installing SeoQuill on your Shopify store, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
Store information — your Shopify store domain, access token, and plan subscription status. This is required to authenticate API calls to your store.
Product data — product titles, handles, and existing descriptions. This data is read from your store to generate new content. We do not store your full product catalog — only the title and metadata of products you actively generate content for.
Generated content — the AI-generated descriptions and SEO metadata we produce for your products. This is stored so you can review generation history.
Usage data — the number of generations performed, credits used, and your plan tier. Used to enforce plan limits.
Settings — your preferred language, tone, and brand voice examples. Stored to personalise generated content.
We do not sell your data to third parties.
OpenAI — product titles and existing descriptions are sent to OpenAI's API to generate new content. OpenAI's data handling is governed by their Privacy Policy. We send only the minimum data required for generation.
Supabase — we use Supabase (PostgreSQL) to store shop records, generated content, and job queue data. Data is stored on servers in the EU or US depending on your Supabase region.
Shopify — SeoQuill operates within the Shopify platform. Your use of Shopify is governed by Shopify's Privacy Policy.
We retain your data for as long as SeoQuill is installed on your store. When you uninstall the app, we process a deletion request within 30 days in accordance with Shopify's GDPR webhook requirements.
Generated content history is retained for 12 months, after which it is automatically purged.

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS) and secure storage of access tokens. We do not store Shopify access tokens in plain text.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify merchants of significant changes by displaying a notice within the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
